Getting There

by rail
The renovated train station is a bit less abysmal than the bus station located across the street. Train timetables can be viewed at www.litrail.lt. Be aware that when arriving on a train in transit through Lithuania, you'll go through customs checks after disembarking from the train. Walk to the Old Town takes approximately seven minutes. Lithuanian rail is the main operator there.

by bus
Bus and train station are close to each other. There you can buy tickets for national and international buses. The modern building offers you everything you need for a trip, both food and presents.
The major bus companies are Eurolines Baltic International, Ecolines, Toks (Long-distance passinger transportation company) etc.

by air
The airport is located 5km south of the city. Vilnius is connected for example with following Europes cities: Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Kiev, London, Moscow, Paris, Prague, Riga, Stockholm, Tallinn, Vienna, Warsaw etc.
The national airline company is Lithuanian Airlines. Aeroflot, Air Baltic, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Czech Airlines, Estonian Air, Finnair, SAS, LOT, Lufthansa etc. are also represented in Vilnius.
